He was reported that the deceased was travelling with a vehicle full of students when the shooting incident occurred in front of Ascot Primary School in Portmore, St Catherine, sometime before 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. According to eyewitnesses, the students scattered in a frenzy as Whyte was chased by armed men and shot several times under a near-by tree. There were no reports of injuries to any of the students.
