JFJ leads protest in Half-Way Tree against rising police killings
Apr 30th, 2025 | Category: Special Reports | 14:06#JamaicaGleaner A small group of protesters, clad in black gathered outside the Half-Way Tree Transport Centre in St Andrew on Tuesday, April 29 for a protest led by human rights lobby group Jamaicans For Justice (JFJ). The protest aimed to highlight what the organisation describes as an alarming rise in police killings across Jamaica. There was also a counter-protest, clad in blue, in support of the police. Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness, though not at the protest, wore blue in solidarity with the police.
