Fire brigade urges caution as response likely to be hampered during Melissa's passage
Oct 28th, 2025 | Category: Special Reports | 3:19#JamaicaGleaner OCTOBER 28, 2025: The Jamaica Fire Brigade is urging Jamaicans to exercise caution at home and in shelters as flooding and road blockages from Hurricane Melissa are expected to hamper emergency response. Deputy Commissioner Warren Malcolm said while firefighters are on alert, “we know the challenges that we may face,” urging persons to “take the necessary precautions not to commit themselves in any way that will bring harm to them and their neighbours.”
