Just 48 hours before he was set to step into his role as deputy managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), he had one final parliamentary appearance ahead as he sat with The Sunday Gleaner. In his new post, Clarke will occupy a unique role as the highest-ranking non-European citizen within the IMF, an institution serving 190 countries worldwide. At 53, he stands on the brink of a global stage, ready to embark on a new journey.
