#JamaicaGleaner #Paris #ParisOlympics2024 #Olympics JULY 27, 2024: “That inch will probably stay in my mind for a long time,” said Jamaican judoka Ashley McKenzie after his Round of 16 defeat to Turkey’s Salih Yildiz at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. McKenzie reflected on his narrow loss and considered what he might have done differently to reach the finals. While he’s unsure about retirement, the 35-year-old plans to take a break from competitive judo but dreams of one day coaching a Jamaican team to the Olympics.
