Jamaica has been marshalling support for thousands of displaced residents in St Vincent and the Grenadines, where the eruption of the La Soufrière volcano has disrupted lives. Her Majesty’s Bahamian Ship Lawrence Major set out for the Eastern Caribbean country, laden with relief supplies valued in excess of J$20 million.
