Despite the imposition of states of emergency across the island, more than half of murders committed since 2020 have gone unsolved… Five murders recorded in just over 24 hours in areas where a state of emergency is imposed… Jamaica Teachers’ Association President Owen Speid lobbies for teachers to be armed with non-lethal weapons to fend off attacks from students… IN SPORTS: There is to be a purse increase of almost $1.5 million for Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment’s Ash Wednesday Race Day, set for February 26 at Caymanas Park.
