#JamaicaGleaner MAY 7, 2025: Jamaican Authorities have admitted that it is unlawful for cops to demand a citizen’s cell phone password during a random stop… The Police have been instructed to pause the ticketing of motorists for daytime running lights (DRLs) that are pre-installed on their vehicles… The judge in the Mario Deane trial rejected an application from a defence lawyer for the jury to be allowed to visit and examine the Barnett Street Police Station Lock-Up, where Deane was beaten to death on August 3… IN SPORTS: Rising Jamaican sprint sensation and Louisiana State University standout Brianna Lyston has decided to call time on her amateur status, giving up her collegiate eligibility.
