Pearnel Charles dismisses allegations that Americans helped JLP topple Manley Gov’t

#Election1980 OCTOBER 30, 2020: Pearnel Charles Sr, the immediate former speaker of the House of Representatives and a key figure in the elections of 1980 says the Jamaica Labour Party has shot down the rumor saying as a personnel who was close to the inner circles of the party and to Edward Seaga, he had not seen a single engagement with a CIA agent. Charles however admitted that the JLP had the American support because of its pro-democracy stance it had adopted at a time when communism threatened the country.
