Trial dates set in police overtime battle with Government
Dec 17th, 2021 | Category: Special Reports | 6:11#JamaicaGleaner #JCF #Police #JamaicaPoliceFederation DECEMBER 17, 2021: The trial in the contentious wage issue between the police and the Government was yesterday set for April 4 and 5, 2022, but the disgruntled cops remain hopeful that the matter will be settled before then. The officers had taken the Government to court over its failure to reportedly pay millions in overtime sums from as far back as 2008. Both the Government and the Jamaica Police Federation (JPF) had been exploring a possible settlement of the vexing issue, but the cops rejected a proposal from the Government to only compensate them for overtime work since 2019.
